I don't have any dance experience, I'm not sure where to start?

We suggest taking our beginner classes. Our classes are designed for absolute beginners with little to no dance experience. If you find the classes too easy then you can take the intermediate level classes.

Do I have to be in good shape to dance?

No you do not have to be in good shape. People of all body types and shapes attend our classes. The focus of the class is to get you moving and having fun while learning to dance.

Is there any age limit for dance?

There is no age limit. As long as you can walk and take basic steps you should be okay for our dance classes.

Where is your school / dance studio located?
Major Intersection: Bloor & Spadina
Closest Subway: Spadina Subway Station
Studio Address:
427 Bloor Street West
Toronto, Ontario
M5S 1X7

Do I need a partner to register for classes?

NO. You do not need a dance partner to register. We always try to register equal number of males and females. We have student helpers to balance the numbers in case anyone is away. In a private class you are paired with a professional instructor.

I don't have any dance experience can I still register for dance lessons?

We are trained to help beginners with little to no salsa experience become great salsa dancers. Come to class with a smile and a willingness to learn. You will will have a great time dancing and meeting new people.

Which is better for me, private or group dance classes?
Private dance classes are always better. Private dance classes offer the most concentrated instruction, as they are one to one with an instructor and are customised to suit your own pace of learning and dance desires. They are offer more scheduling flexibility, so they are better for those who live busy lifestyles. If your budget is limited, group dance classes are an affordable option. Group dance classes are also well-suited to people who prefer a more social experience and group learning environment.

How do I register for a class?
To register for our salsa classes visit the class page. Complete the student registration form and select a dance card and the class times you wish to attend. You will be redirected to paypal.com to make payment. Once payment is made you will receive an email confirmation about your registered class.

What are the costs of the classes?
1 Class / Drop In cost $20
5 Classes cost $90
10 Classes cost $160

Can I make payment in class or in person?
Yes you can pay in class (Please bring cash as we don't have a debit machine on site). Please register online and put a note that you will be paying in person. You can skip the payment process when you are redirected to PayPal.com

Can I do drop in classes?
Yes you can do drop in classes. No need to register. Just show up to class and make a payment of $20.

Can I watch a class before I sign up?
Yes you can watch a class before you sign up. Please email us prior to the class to let us know the time and date you wish to attend.

What is your cancellation policy?
We do not offer refunds on classes or on any un-used dance cards.

What do I do if I miss a class?

Because we use dance cards for all our classes you will still have a class credit. To catch up on the last class we suggest coming in early for a quick review or asking other students for help. The other option is to book a private lesson with our instructors.

Can I video tape the classes?
We allow for video taping at the end of the class. The instructor will allocate 5 minutes at the end of each class for students to record the salsa turn pattern or salsa move.

What is the male/female ratio?
The male to female ratio is pretty even as we control the amount of registration allowed. We typically have class helpers to fill in for when the numbers are uneven. We also frequently rotate partners to ensure everyone has an equal opportunity to practice.

What is the age range of your students?
Our dance classes are open for students from ages 21 and older. The general age range of our students are between the ages of 25 to 45 years of age. They come from all walks of life. We have doctors, teachers, students, dentist, construction workers, engineers, lawyers, real estate agents, sales reps, models, fashion designers, day care providers, baby sitters and more.

What type of shoes should I wear?

Wear shoes that offer good support and allow enough slip and grip ie. suede or leather soled shoes. Ladies - If you want to wear heels a 2-3inch heel is recommended. If you want to purchase dance shoes we are more than happy to give you some recommendations.

For ladies, it is recommended to wear dance heels or regular flats for class. Otherwise, comfortable track shoes or heels with ankle support are also acceptable.

For gentlemen, jazz shoes or dance sneakers are best. Track shoes or normal covered shoes are also fine as long as they are comfortable and easy to move in.

No flip flops though!

How should I dress for class?

Dance Attire:

Ladies - Skirts and dresses are fine, but we find that yoga pants, jeans, shorts and leggings are better suited for dance!

Men - Wear anything you feel comfortable in that allows you to move freely. Athletic wear, jeans, capris or track pants are good options.

Avoid Jewellery:
Avoid wearing watches, rings, large belt buckles and clothing with lots of strings and buttons. These objects can cause injury such as scratches and cuts. Loose stringy clothing can cause your partners hands or fingers to get caught which can cause injury to the arm and fingers.
